How we price, and why we won't publish a fake 'from $49'
Locksmith work varies too much for a single headline number to be honest. Here's exactly what makes up a quote so you can compare us properly.
Why there's no headline price on this page
A very low advertised price is usually the callout fee only, quoted so the phone rings. The real bill lands after the technician arrives. We'd rather give you a genuine estimate range on the call than a number designed to be wrong.
What a quote is made of
Callout
A single attendance fee covering travel and the first diagnostic assessment. It is quoted to you on the phone before we dispatch, and it differs between business hours and after hours.
Labour
Charged by time on site. Straightforward openings are usually quick. Alignment work, multi-door rekeys and commercial hardware take longer, and we tell you the expected duration when we quote.
Parts
Charged at the price we quote you, itemised on the invoice. If we recommend upgrading hardware, you'll see the cheaper compliant option alongside it.
After hours
Work outside standard hours attracts a higher rate. You'll be told the after-hours rate before you agree to a booking, never afterwards.
What can change a quote
- The lock turns out to be a different type or brand than described on the phone
- The door or frame is damaged and needs correction before hardware will seat
- Additional doors are added once we're on site
- Hardware needs to be ordered rather than supplied from the van
In every one of those cases we stop, explain, and give you the revised price before continuing. You are free to decline the extra work.
Payment and invoicing
- Payment on completion for residential and one-off jobs
- Card and bank transfer accepted
- Itemised tax invoice issued for every job, with GST shown where applicable
- Account invoicing available for businesses, strata and property managers
