Terms of Service

These terms apply to locksmith work performed by us and to your use of this website.

Last updated: 3 August 2026

1. Who we are

PV Emergency Locksmith, 37-39 Essex Street, Pascoe Vale, VIC 3044. Contact: +61 3 7047 9429 or admin@pvemergencylocksmith.com.

2. Quotes and estimates

A price given over the phone is an estimate based on what you describe. A firm quote is given on site once we have inspected the door, lock or hardware. Work does not begin until you approve the on-site price. If the scope changes, we stop and give you a revised price before continuing, and you may decline the additional work.

3. Proof of entitlement

Before opening, rekeying or replacing any lock, we require evidence that you are entitled to access the property, vehicle or safe. Acceptable evidence includes photo identification showing the address, a lease, a rates or utility notice, or written authority from the owner or managing agent. We may refuse or abandon a job where entitlement cannot be established. A callout fee remains payable in that case.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the work area
  • Disclose known defects, prior damage, or unusual hardware
  • Obtain any consent required from an owner, rental provider or body corporate
  • Ensure someone authorised to approve the price is contactable

5. Destructive entry

We attempt non-destructive methods first. Where a lock cannot be opened without damage, we will tell you before proceeding, explain why, and quote the replacement cost. Drilling or other destructive entry only occurs with your express approval.

6. Pre-existing condition

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, wear, misalignment or non-compliant installation that we did not cause. Where such conditions affect the work, we will point them out and record them on the invoice.

7. Payment

Payment is due on completion unless we have agreed account terms in writing. We issue an itemised tax invoice for every job. Account customers are subject to the terms stated on the invoice. We may suspend further work where an account is significantly overdue.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel a booking at no cost before a technician is dispatched. If a technician has already been dispatched or has arrived, the callout fee is payable. Special-order hardware already purchased for your job is payable. See our returns and refunds policy.

9. Warranty

Our workmanship warranty and the manufacturer warranty position are set out on our warranty page and on your invoice.

10. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited at our option to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied. See our consumer guarantees page.

11. Liability

Subject to clause 10, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or business interruption. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

12. Website use

Content on this website is general information about locksmith services and security hardware. It is not legal, insurance or compliance advice. We may change site content at any time. All text, images and branding on this site remain our property.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The version published on this page at the time you engage us is the version that applies.
